About Fitzwilliam Dental

How Our Story Began…

Ray and Susan, being fellow students in dental school, and after further education and practice for over 10 years in the UK returned to the heart of Dublin city to set up Fitzwilliam House Dental Practice. Their aim was, as it is today, to provide high-quality dental care to help their patients enjoy a positive forward – looking dental experience and oral health care over their lifetime.

Dr. Susan Kiely

BDS NUI, MSc. Clin. Dent.

“I continue to be engaged and stimulated by the advances in oral healthcare and the contribution technology is making to the daily management of, and relation-building with my patients.”

Susan qualified from University College Cork and continued further training in the Eastman Hospital, London and Mayday Hospital, Surrey. She completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Dentistry in Trinity College Dublin and continues to actively pursue continuous  professional development.

Susan’s practice is informed by evidence-based concepts to support value -driven oral healthcare and making every health contact count to advance the optimum oral health and general well-being of her patients over their lifetimes.

Dr. Kiely’s clinical interests include the comprehensive management of oral disease which can compromise oral function and aesthetics and she works with a highly experienced and skilled clinical and technical team to manage complex cases.

In addition, Susan has been active in several dental organisations and, on their behalf, has contributed to radio, television and print media featuring topics on oral health.

Dr. Ray McCarthy

BDS FDS MSc MRD

“As a dentist in practice for many years, I always find myself stimulated and challenged by clinical cases and continuing to enjoy working with patients to find the right solutions for them and their long term dental needs.”

Ray qualified from University College Cork and undertook postgraduate training in Oral Surgery and Periodontology in the UK before completing his Masters Programme in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute in London.

He strongly believes that oral and dental health is best protected over a lifetime by implementing effective disease prevention and minimising dental interventions to those that best safeguard the structure and viability of teeth over the long term.

Ray has particular clinical interests in the management of worn/eroded teeth and in the restoration of vulnerable tooth structure with bonded restorations. He has lectured and published on these subjects.
